#matchamondays: week 1 & matcha latte boba
sharing my weekly musings of being a first-time mother & a recipe
musings
i am nearing the end of my pregnancy. how have i felt? the first half of my pregnancy was relatively easy (compared to anecdotal stories from family & friends). the second half of my pregnancy was significantly rougher, starting with back pain & cramping, then carpal tunnel syndrome & swelling, and finally insomnia.
it was the first week of parental leave, and while i was ready to take it, i definitely felt a void in my week. without work and having all these second half of pregnancy symptoms, i had a lot of time on my hand. as soon as monday hit, i filled my schedule to make sure i was productive, whether it was reading multiple books or crossing off overdue errands. by thursday, i was exhausted and had to remind myself to slow down and be comfortable in adjusting to parental leave life. that day, i decided to slowly trek over to one of my favorite cafes in nob hill - the coffee movement.
i sat there, slowly sipping my latte and observing tourists that were getting off the trolly near by. i needed this, and it served me as reminders to embrace this season to slow down and not feel obligated to be productive.
today’s recipe: matcha latte boba 🍵
this recipe was created out of my love for: matcha & boba and has been heavily repeated in my household! for the matcha powder, one of my favorites is from ippodo tea. for boba, i generally use these ones, which can be purchased on amazon, weee!, or local asian grocery stores like 99 ranch.
